1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy describes how WestCo Inspection Services, LLC, doing business as WestCo Home Inspection (“WestCo,” “we,” “us”), collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information when you visit our website, request or schedule an inspection, create an account, receive an inspection report, or otherwise communicate with us. We provide home, mold, sewer scope and related inspection services in Southern California, California, USA.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Identifiers and contact details: name, email address, phone number, mailing address.
  • Property and transaction details: the address of the property to be inspected, requested service, preferred dates and times, access instructions, and, where provided, information about your real estate transaction and your agent.
  • Inspection records: photos, video, thermal and drone imagery, measurements, notes, findings and reports created in the course of an inspection.
  • Account information: login credentials and preferences if you create an account on our site or client portal.
  • Payment information: payments are processed by third-party payment processors. We do not store full card numbers on our servers; we receive confirmation of payment and limited details such as the card brand and last four digits.
  • Communications: messages, form submissions, call and email records, and reviews or testimonials you choose to share.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and similar usage data collected through cookies and server logs.

We collect this information directly from you, from people acting on your behalf (such as your real estate agent), and automatically through your use of the site.

3. How we use information

  • To schedule, perform and deliver inspections and reports, and to communicate with you about them.
  • To create and manage your account and to provide customer support.
  • To process payments and prevent fraud.
  • To operate, secure, maintain and improve our website and services.
  • To send service-related messages, such as appointment confirmations and reminders.
  • To send marketing communications where permitted; you can opt out at any time.
  • To comply with legal obligations, enforce our agreements and protect our rights.

4. How we disclose information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose information only as described below:

  • With the people you direct us to: inspection reports are delivered to you and, at your direction, to your real estate agent, attorney, lender, insurer or other parties you name.
  • Service providers that help us operate our business, such as website hosting, database and authentication, report-writing, scheduling and calendar, email and messaging, payment processing, laboratories that analyze mold or other samples, and analytics. They may use the information only to perform services for us.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, subpoena or legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of WestCo, our clients or others.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, sale or reorganization of the business.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to keep you signed in, remember preferences and keep the site secure, and, where enabled, to understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect parts of the site. Because there is no uniform standard, our site does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals, but we honor opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control as required by California law.

6. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide services, to keep inspection records for a reasonable period for your and our protection, and to meet legal, accounting and dispute-resolution requirements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), gives you the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and the categories of sources and purposes.
  • Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions (for example, records we must retain).
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information.
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not use it beyond what is permitted to provide our services.
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
